First Asia-Oceania Vocation Animators Training Takes Place in Malaysia: Br Anitele'a Fidow Represents Star of the Sea Province

The first-ever Asia-Oceania Marist Vocation Animators Training Program was held in Malaysia from 26 to 30 October, bringing together Marist Brothers from across different Districts, Sectors and Provinces to strengthen their shared commitment to vocation ministry.
Br Anitele'a Fidow represented the Star of the Sea Province at the gathering, which focused on the common mission of awakening, nurturing and accompanying vocations to Marist religious life.

The program took place against the backdrop of declining numbers of young men responding to religious life, including the vocation of a Marist Brother. It provided an opportunity for the Brothers to reflect on the challenges facing vocation ministry and renew their commitment to encouraging and accompanying young people as they discern their calling.
A key aim of the training was to strengthen and revitalise vocation ministry across Asia and Oceania by equipping Brothers involved in vocation animation with the knowledge, skills and practical strategies needed to respond to the realities of today.
Throughout the five-day program, participants explored ways to better understand today's young people, strengthen their skills in personal accompaniment and mentoring, and develop creative approaches to promoting Marist religious life.

They also worked towards developing practical and sustainable vocation action plans suited to the particular circumstances of their respective Districts, Sectors and Provinces.
Inspired by the example of Marcellin Champagnat and guided by Mary, the gathering aimed to renew the Brothers' commitment to being present among young people, particularly those searching for meaning and direction in their lives.

The first Asia-Oceania training program marks an important step towards building a stronger, more united and collaborative approach to Marist vocation ministry across the region.
