Vanuatu: St Michael Technical College Students Engage in Hands-on Assessments and Missionary Activities

Students at St Michael Technical College in Vanuatu have had a busy few weeks, with activities ranging from practical classroom assessments to community engagement and reflection during Mission Week.

The Year 10 students put their learning into practice through a practical internal assessment in General Technology, focusing on local food preparation. The activity provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their practical skills and explore local food preparation as part of their technology studies.

The following week, boarding students from St Michael College visited different families as part of the missionary activities organised during Mission Week. These visits gave students an opportunity to connect with members of the local community, spend time with families and put Christian values into practice through their presence and engagement with others.

In the afternoon, students gathered to share their experiences and reflect on what they had learnt through the week's activities. They also prepared posters featuring messages from their experiences, which they planned to share with the wider school community at the following day's assembly.
Through these activities, students had opportunities to develop their practical skills, strengthen their connections with the community and reflect on how they could live out their faith in everyday life.
